Let’s Make a Deal SDO

Today we made…photograms, snowstorms, forts, and deals. It was a great start to 2 weeks of fun ahead!

We learned how to make photograms in the dark room today!

We took a trip to the pool to see what it's like to "swim" in the winter

We attempted to prompt a snowstorm by making lots of magical paper snowflakes

We played lots games and made deals as well

We also made forts

Practicing Tip Tests in Preparation for Lake Day

Day campers have the unique opportunity this week to join resident campers during Lake Day on Wednesday. To prep for this experience, we require each kid of canoeing age to pass a tip-test. Everybody did great and is ready to respond if his/her canoe should happen to tip.

We're ready to tip!

We are OK!

Ready to swim!

Cardboard Boat Races

Today’s theme for day camp was “Clean Environment.” We focused on the benefits of reducing, reusing, recycling and creating a cleaner world.

In the morning, the campers constructed boats from minimal supplies…carboard boxes, scissors, and a pre-measured portion of tape. The Goal? To win the boat race! During pool time, each team had a person in the boat. Teammates were helping dolphins: giving the extra push to the finish line! It was certainly a fun start to the afternoon!

Check out the pictures!

It took some teamwork and some good manuevers to get this boat into the pool area!

Excitement builds before the race!

Determination helped win the race!

What a fun day!
