Target Alliance Campers

Working together with the United Way of Central Iowa, Camp Hantesa hosts a camper unit known as Target Alliance (TA). The program runs for two years for middle school students. Over the course of their week, campers not only get to experience camp life, they also get to travel to local labor unions on field trips. This week, our campers visited the Ironworkers, Electrical Workers, Sheet Metal Workers, and the Plumbers & Steamfitters. Each union gave the kids a tour and explained the trade to them. Also, each camper learned about apprentice programs and future opportunities of working with the union. Check out pictures from Thursday’s field trip!

Fun Fact: Mr. Sarge's great-grandfather was a founding member of the plumbers and steamfitters union. Can you guess which one he is?
