Dad and Me Weekend
The rain held off this weekend, and we had a great time at camp with our Dad and Me camp program. The seven families enjoyed a night hike with a frog hunt, archery, leather crafting, noodle hockey, bouldering, and of course a couple of camp fires! We look forward to seeing families at our family camp on May 11-12th and during our new family resident camp program July 5-7th!
Roll up Your Sleeves and Join Our Pottery Class!
Register for our Saturday Afternoon Pottery Studio!
Learn how to work with clay! During our weekend pottery studio, each camper will have the opportunity to create one or more ceramic pieces. The following weekend, we will glaze our works of art and then learn how to use the potter’s wheel!
Drop Off and Pick Up at either Camp Hantesa, Camp Canwita (Ames), or the Des Moines Camp Fire Office.

Today was “Best in the West” Day. Check out pictures from our pony rides this morning!

Did your kids like the pony ride today? Send them to Riding Day Camp OR if they are 4th grade and above, sign them up for the ultimate experience: a week at Herman’s Ranch Camp. Spend quality time at the barn each day and then join in on all of the resident camp fun too! At the end of the week, you can participate in a horse show to show off the skills you’ve gained during the week! Campers who participate at Herman’s may learn how to trot, canter, jump or even learn dressage riding…The possibilities are endless!
