Volunteers Help Propel Us Toward Summer

Volunteers Help Propel Us Toward Summer

This Sunday, we had over 50 people working on projects at camp in preparation for the busy summer season. Busting old concrete, cutting trees, cleaning the pool, moving furniture, raking trails, pulling weeds, painting buildings….you name it, they were likely doing it!

We are so thankful for the organizations and the members of the Hantesa family who come to camp to give back and help us out. We logged approximately 210 man-hours in one day, WOW!

John Deere’s United Way Volunteers Make a Big Impact During a Camp Work Day

25 volunteers from the John Deere company inĀ  came out today to volunteer. Roofing was removed, buildings were fixed, debris was trucked away . . . What could take our staff four months to accomplish, these guys accomplished in a day! We are so excited for our partnership with John Deere and the ongoing sponsorship we have with United Way. The less maintenance work we do as a staff, the more time we get to devote to our campers and groups! Thank you John Deere!

Camp Hantesa Supports Local Community Environmental Effort

Earlier this month, Camp Hantesa supported the Dragoon River Romp, a local cleanup effort for the Des Moines Watershed. We provided a bus to transport volunteers from site to site along the river. Our driver had a great time working with the other volunteers. We are looking forward to putting together a camp team to help with the cleanup next year!

We are mentioned in the paper. Check out the article in the Boone News Republican!

United Way’s Day of Caring at Camp Hantesa

On Thursday, we had approximately 60 United Way volunteers at camp! They willingly rolled up their sleeves to work on multiple projects. They helped paint, chainsaw, build, and clean. We were so happy to have the help and share Camp Hantesa with everyone. Check out the pictures!

Still smiling after a long day of work!
