The Strength of Camp

This week, we have had the pleasure of welcoming our newest and youngest overnight campers to Hantesa. The mean/average age of these campers is 7.67 years old. A perfect time to begin camp! We look forward to welcoming many more new overnight campers this summer. It’s never too late to come to camp! Read below why others would agree when we say this is a critical experience for children in today’s modern world.

In a recent Washington Post interview, author and psychologist Michael Thompson, PhD, put it this way: “I think camp is the best emotional preparation for a successful college experience, because you practice being on your own, keeping track of your clothes; you practice living in a community and getting along with roommates you don’t love — all of the skills you need for true independence.”
